  I started my journey as a Dojo Mom, watching from the sidelines. John Carter is great with the kids. He has a way of teaching that helps every type of student. After about 5 months of watching there was an opportunity for me to take the free women’s self defense class.
  
  The Gracie women empowered program has been a life changer for me! When I started I had absolutely no experience with martial arts. Now I crave to be on the mat 24/7. Not only am I taking the women’s program, I have also moved on to Aikido and Gracie Combatives in the group classes. As shy and timid as I was, I would have NEVER imagined doing anything like this.
  
  John Carter is an amazing instructor and I feel so lucky to be part of such an awesome community...actually a family. This program has touched so many parts of my life in such a short time. After cycling through the 1st set of classes, I have found where I have more confidence at work, home, and on the mat.
  
  My husband’s even training now! He loves the special law enforcement tips he gets to apply in his job to help him work much safer.
  
  My whole family now trains with Sensei. That alone says a lot!
